Terms and Conditions – Massage and Pain Management Therapy

1. General Information

These Terms and Conditions (Agreement) set forth the legally binding terms between Val Idin / Flexi-Move (Therapist) and the client (“You”, “Your”), regarding the provision of massage therapy and pain management services. By booking, attending or receiving treatment, you agree to these terms in full.

2. Scope of Services

Services provided include massage therapy, manual therapy, posture correction, and pain management techniques, which are complementary and non-diagnostic in nature.

These services do not replace medical care. I am not a medical doctor, physiotherapist, or chiropractor and do not offer diagnoses or medical treatment.

3. Health and Consent

Informed Consent must be signed before any treatment begins.

You must disclose all relevant medical history, including but not limited to injuries, surgeries, medications, mental health conditions, pregnancy, allergies, or communicable diseases.

I reserve the right to decline or refer treatment if contraindications are present or if the therapy may be unsafe or ineffective.

For minors under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide written consent and be present during the session.

4. Clients with Vulnerabilities

I take special care when working with elderly individuals, minors, and clients with disabilities and will act within the scope of my professional qualifications and legal responsibilities.

Vulnerable clients must have a support person (e.g., carer or legal guardian) available for consultation if necessary.

I do not accept responsibility for deterioration of pre-existing conditions unless it is proven to be directly caused by negligence, which must be demonstrated clearly and legally.

5. Professional Boundaries

As a male therapist, I maintain strict professional, ethical, and clinical boundaries at all times.

Clients are fully clothed unless otherwise agreed and explained for treatment purposes. Draping will always be used appropriately.

Any inappropriate behaviour, innuendo, or misconduct will result in immediate termination of the session without refund and, if necessary, reporting to relevant authorities.

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue treatment for any reason, especially if I believe personal or professional boundaries may be compromised.

6. Limitations of Liability

You understand that results from massage and manual therapy are not guaranteed, and individual responses vary.

No treatment guarantees specific outcomes, cures, or pain elimination.

I do not accept liability for:

Temporary discomfort after treatment.

Conditions not disclosed at intake.

Emotional responses triggered during or after treatment.

Misuse of post-treatment advice or exercises.

Any indirect or consequential loss, whether foreseeable or not.

7. Warranties and Guarantees

I offer no warranties or guarantees regarding:

Duration of pain relief or recovery.

Therapeutic outcomes or improvements.

Suitability of treatment for specific medical diagnoses.

Any expectations of treatment results should be discussed prior to sessions and will be approached on a case-by-case basis.

8. Booking, Payment and Cancellation

Sessions must be paid in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

48-hour notice is required for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged in full.

Refunds are issued at my discretion and only for valid, documented reasons (e.g., medical emergency).

9. Contraindications

I reserve the right to refuse treatment if contraindications are identified, including but not limited to:

Fever, infection, skin conditions, open wounds, acute inflammation.

Certain cardiovascular, neurological, or systemic illnesses.

High-risk pregnancy, recent surgery, or unapproved post-operative recovery.

You must consult your GP or specialist prior to attending if unsure.
